  2. #2 Best Suburbs to Live in WashingtonBellevueCity in Washington•Rating 4.38 out of 5 200 reviewsCurrent Resident: It's a nice suburban area turned city and I love that about bellevue. Some negatives that stands out is the way roads are laid out promotes a lot of traffic in certain areas of bellevue. Concerning because nothing is walkable. For example, 140th which is a constantly traveled road only has one single lane but an abundant and pretty landscaping on the curbs. As of this review, many road construction projects pop up so be ready for those. With the negatives aside, the wherever you live there are many shopping squares with shops from nail salons to department stores and grocery stores. The landscaping and nature throughout bellevue allows you be in nature while not having to live somewhere far away from popular cities like Redmond, Seattle, Kirkland, etc.... 6. #5 Best Suburbs to Live in WashingtonSammamishSuburb of Seattle, WA•Rating 4.1 out of 5 138 reviewsCurrent Resident: The people here are very kind, there are good shopping centers, restaurants, schools, and we are within a pretty good driving distance to other towns. However, some of the high schools have more difficult curriculum than others. For example, some high schools offer AP classes instead of IB. This definitely has the possibility to affect kids who apply for college depending on which school they come from. There are many studios, classes, and programs that provide the chance for residents to make friends, immerse themselves in the community, and become part of the group. One thing that I do enjoy about the high schools are that they offer a program called Running Start that allows for students to take college level courses, which looks good on college applications. The curriculum at some schools tend to cause an unnaturally competitive environment where students feel the need to compare themselves to others, especially seen in the IB Diploma curriculum. We have drive through drink shops.... 9. #8 Best Suburbs to Live in WashingtonIssaquahSuburb of Seattle, WA•Rating 4.2 out of 5 103 reviewsCurrent Resident: Issaquah is a wonderful place, and its a shame most people run right through it when they take the highway. The community around here is very open and welcoming, especially with Gilman Village, with all of its unique shops and people to meet. Its also one of the few places that I've found where theres a store that specifically sells stuff related to knitting and crochet projects, like yarn, needle sets, and a bunch of accessories. Traffic is definitely a problem on weekdays around 4pm on Newport, but there's not much to do about that other than adding another road, which would be a hassle.... 10. #9 Best Suburbs to Live in WashingtonKirklandSuburb of Seattle, WA•Rating 4.28 out of 5 182 reviewsCurrent Resident: Kirkland is a pleasant, quiet, and safe community. The area is very family-oriented with parks, a small downtown area, with cafes, restaurants and shops, and many schools in the surrounding areas. There are a few gyms and the streets are walkable and bikeable which encourages a healthy lifestyle. There are also local trails if you want a quieter walk. This is not an area with much night life, so if you're looking for more of a social scene, this is not the place! The diversity near downtown Kirkland is lacking, but as you move through Kirkland heading north into Juanita and Totem Lake, those areas become more diverse and remain safe and quiet communities as well, and those schools are also a part of the same district, which is quality. Downtown Kirkland, Totem Lake, and Juanita are all considered areas of Kirkland, and they all offer slightly different experiences. Totem Lake has a newer development with apartment complexes and shops, restaurants, a grocery store, and a cinema.... 14. #13 Best Suburbs to Live in WashingtonBainbridge IslandSuburb of Seattle, WA•Rating 3.77 out of 5 56 reviewsCurrent Resident: BI is an amazing place but it can be a nice fit for some and a horrible fit for others. Firstly, BI has a small community with a large percentage being white; some people may benefit off of this. Some of the rumors are true, yes BI families (though they don't like to admit it) are more well off than others and I cannot say that the people here are 100% inclusive and diverse as they advertise. The teachers are mostly awesome and they support you most of the time. BI is safe but not the sunniest and if you don't like nature, stay away: BI is known for its magnificent flora and fauna! The children here are a bit spoiled and rude and I will like to see a change in that aspect of community. Also, things are way overpriced here and stores close really early. Winslow is so fun to visit though, and I;ve made some lifelong friends here....
