Welcome To The Summit Wellness Group in Midtown Atlanta
Evaluating Atlanta rehabilitation centers can be very overwhelming. It’s very difficult to know where to turn for this important, potentially life-changing decision. The Summit Wellness Group provides clients with comprehensive and cost-effective treatment programs that address a wide variety of substances and mental health conditions. Our Midtown Atlanta center is one of the highest-rated centers in Georgia because we place our clients first.
Who Can Benefit From Our Midtown Programs
At The Summit Wellness Group, we help professionals, young adults, veterans, LGBTQ, seniors, and parents who struggle with substance abuse and dual diagnosis mental illnesses. We refer adolescents to partner programs. Our Atlanta drug rehab is beneficial for individuals who have never received treatment before, as well as for those who have participated in programs and felt that they did not help. We also have special relapse prevention support groups for individuals who have relapsed and are in need of help once again.
We know each person’s life and schedule are different, so we offer several different treatment options to support long-term recovery. Our partial hospitalization treatment program is perfect for individuals who are able to dedicate their entire day to a program, whereas our intensive outpatient program is especially beneficial to professionals or individuals with outside responsibilities that prevent full-time enrollment.

Sober Living Info
The above 3 levels of care are not part of The Summit Wellness Group Program. However, we recognize that they are vital to one’s long-term sobriety. As such we often refer clients in need of detox or inpatient care to one of our network of partner substance abuse treatment centers in Georgia.
Our Approach to Addiction Treatment
We utilize an integrated approach to treating addiction. Our programs consist of a mix of the latest evidence-based talk therapies, holistic modalities, and specialized groups. On top of that, we utilize the latest advancements in technology such as on-site brain mapping biofeedback therapy. We also support our clients with medication-assisted therapy options.
Holistic Therapy
While manyAtlanta drug treatment centers advertise holistic services, few deliver them. All of ourholistic rehab therapiesare offered on-site, at no additional cost to our clients:
- Guided Meditation
- Yoga Classes
- Therapeutic Massage
- Acupuncture
- Chiropractic Care
- Adventure Therapy
- Music Therapy
Evidence-Based Therapy
We offer many different groups as part of our comprehensive curriculum. Our groups occur daily and are a primary focus of our program: relapse prevention groups, early recovery skills, neurobiology education, codependency education, healthy living skills, co-occurring illnesses education, mindfulness, and grief and loss groups. The level of care that the individual is attending will determine the number of hours the client attends group per week.
Medication-Assisted Therapy
Any approach combining counseling and behavioral therapy with medications in the treatment of substance use disorders. The medications utilized in this type of treatment typically resemble the patient’s drug of choice in certain ways but are much safer and easier to monitor and control. An example of a widely-applied MAT is the use of buprenorphine (Suboxone) to suppress cravings for, and withdrawal symptoms of, opioids.
Brain Mapping
A mind-body technique involving the use of visual or auditory feedback for the purpose of gaining control over certain involuntary bodily functions including, but not limited to, heart rate, breathing rate, skin temperature, muscle tension, blood flow, blood pressure, and pain perception. Brain mapping can be useful in treating substance abuse because it enables clients to get a better understanding of their own involuntary bodily functions, which can also assist therapists in more adequately customizing a treatment plan.
More About the Therapies Available at our Midtown Location
Psychological and behavioral therapies and methodologies continue to evolve with each passing year. The team of expert clinicians at our Midtown treatment center utilize the following therapies to treat drug and alcohol addiction:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
A well-known form of psychotherapy focused on modifying dysfunctional and harmful emotions, thoughts, and behaviors by closely evaluating and uprooting negative and/or irrational beliefs. During the process of working with one of The Summit Wellness Group’s therapists, CBT helps the client become aware of negative or otherwise inaccurate thinking so that he or she may address challenging situations more effectively.
More About CBT
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
A type of CBT whose goal is to provide the client with mechanisms for remaining in the present moment, regulating emotions, coping with stress in a healthy manner, and improving interpersonal relationships. Originally intended for sufferers of borderline personality disorder (BPD), it has since been effectively adapted for clients with substance abuse.
More About About DBT
Group Therapy
A form of counseling involving regular sessions during which one or more of The Summit Wellness Group’s Master Level (or above) clinicians work with multiple clients in a group setting. Advantages of this type of treatment include empowerment of group members through encouragement to provide mutual assistance and feedback, provision of peer motivation, support and accountability to enable individuals to reach and maintain recovery goals, and the ability of one or more therapists to treat multiple patients in one session, allowing for greater efficiency of resources and quicker access to therapy.
More About Group Therapy
EMDR
A form of psychotherapy in which the patient is prompted to recall distressing images while the therapist attempts to use external stimuli in order to facilitate bilateral stimulation, such as side-to-side eye movements or the tapping of one’s hands. Practitioners of EMDR strive to reduce subjective distress within patients and strengthen their adaptive beliefs relative to traumatic events they have experienced. While there is not a tremendous amount of evidence that EMDR is effective in treating substance abuse, it has proven to be quite useful in treating anxiety and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) from which individuals with substance abuse disorder often suffer.
More About EMDR Therapy
Experiential Therapy
A type of therapy involving physical, hands-on activities or experiences which provide interactive opportunities for patients to transcend communicative barriers and open up more effectively to therapists. This type of therapy is extremely valuable for patients who have difficulty discussing painful events or deep emotions.

FAQ
- How much does rehab cost at Summit?
Cost is going to depend entirely on which programs and therapies are utilized.PHPprograms are going to be the most expensive whileIOPandoutpatientcosts are less. We accept most majorhealthinsurancesas well as self-pay, and financing options are available and discussed upon admission.
- What insurance policies do you accept?
We accept private insurance such as Cigna, Aetna, Beacon Health, GEHA, Magellan, Empire, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Humana. If you are concerned about payment and which insurances we accept, give us a call and we can talk you through this process.
- How do I know when I should go to rehab?
If drug or alcohol use has caused any sort of disruption in your day-to-day life, it is time to seek treatment. Whether you use illicit or prescription drugs, increased tolerance, dependence, and addiction are all causes for concern. Not only can prolonged use cause significant damage to the brain and body, but the longer abuse continues, the more irreversible these effects become.
- How long do the Summit programs last?
Because each person’s needs are different, program lengths are going to vary on a case by case basis. In general, our PHP program will last between 2 to 4 weeks while IOP can extend anywhere from 2 to 3 months. Our outpatient programs are ongoing and last as long as our clients feel is necessary.
- How can I motivate a loved one to start treatment?
The short answer is that you cannot force someone to go to rehab if they don’t want to. But you can make them aware of your concerns and provide them with information on facilities you have looked into. Express how their substance use makes you feel and provide them with the support they need during this time.
