Menzies Lounge Schiphol?

Transiting through AMS to ABZ after a flight from BKK with EVA.

Can someone please tell me which would be the appropriate lounge to buy a pass for, through Priority Pass, so I can comfortably sit out the 5 hour layover.

If the Menzies lounge is not the only one, which other would you recommend and how to purchase a single visit pass please? I'd obviously like the lounge to be in the vicinity of departure gates for my flight to ABZ.

Thanks for any help.

Your flight to ABZ will in all likelihood depart from the D pier. Both the Menzies (43) and Servisair (42) lounges are between the F and E piers upstairs, so not quite close to the D pier but there is nothing closer.

See http://www.schiphol.nl/AtSchiphol/Maps.htm

Both are PriorityPass lounges. I have no experience with either of these in the non-Schengen area. Further info at www.prioritypass.com

However, I do not believe that either lounge will allow a single day entry. Nor do I believe that the amount charged through PriorityPass would necessarily be worth it unless you are already a member. Schiphol is not a bad airport to spend a few hours at...

All in all, your best shot maybe to find an FB Elite+ member who can take you into the KLM lounge, assuming your flight to ABZ is on KLM.

The Servisair Lounge is slightly better in terms of drink selection.
They used to have great sandwiches after 10am but I haven't seen them in a while.
From the Servisair lounge you have a better view (if that's interests you).
Both lounges are fine albeit rather basic.

I usually have some hours at AMS and as Jetfan said, it's not the worst airport to not have lounge access. Last year Diners had a lounge there, can't remember if it was Menzies or Servisair, but it was quite basic. I spent 5 hours at AMS last week, without lounge access, and it was ok, although I had had a 11 hours flight at economy... :-D I thought about buying myself lounge access for 35 Euro at the KLM lounge, but saved my money instead.

Just noticed that you are PE with KLM. So why pay for PriorityPass if you can use the KLM lounge? ServisAir and Menzies aren't better than the KLM lounge.

erm....... yes, about time I update my status!

KLM have lost a lot of my flying time over the past few years, to the extent that I am now a lowly 'Ivory'. The shame Menzies Lounge Schiphol? - FlyerTalk Forums (14)

As an Ivory you cannot.
Only as Silver for EUR 35 (pretty expensive if you ask me - only worth it if you are staying long and e.g. using wifi)

You can purchase a entry pass for the Servisair lounge, costs 20 pounds (23,50EUR).
Go to https://www.executivelounges.com/en/ and make sure to select Lounge T3, otherwise you'll end up at the schengen lounge.

You can use the lounge for 3 hours, and it opens from 0800LT till 2300LT.
However, the site also says;

Length of Stay

The length of stay is dependent upon the lounge and will be clearly stated in your quote. It can range from two to six hours. Extended stays can be arranged upon request but are at the discretion of the lounge Administrators

At this very moment I am in the Servisair Lounge here at Schiphol (non-Schengen).

Unlimited soda, unlimited alcohol (basically), unlimited soup ("Cup of Soup"), juices, coffee (espresso machine), and tea. Finger sandwiches and fresh-from-oven cheese puffs. Chips and nuts too. That's all. But good enough for me, since I skipped breakfast.

No free wifi here.

Next trip I'll try the Menzies Lounge but today I might as well stay put.

Menzies was the Diners Club lounge, though there are signs that Diners does not grant free access any longer. I have used both of them on my trips with Swiss (Menzies) and Lufthansa (Servisair). Both are almost equally mediocre but I slightly preferred Servisair. The coffee is better, every now and then there is real food on top of the bags of chips, and the choice of (non alcoholic) drinks is a little more extensive. Both lounges offer a very limited (4-5 bottles) choice of alcoholic drinks. Menzies has more newspapers. No free WIFI available in both lounges. Menzies has some computers in the back where you can use the internet through the expensive KPN access. Servisair has fewer lounges.

If you want to be quiet or work a little, this is the place to be. Otherwise, there are probably better possibilities to spend 25 EUR in the airport!
