We purchased Kirkland canned chicken to stock up our pantry for hurricane season since we are prone to some nasty storms and can quickly lose power for days at a time. This canned chicken is an excellent source of protein that’s so versatile it’s a great addition to any pantry.

Kirkland Canned Chicken Recipes

Here are some great ways to use up this pantry staple.

Healthy Kirkland Canned Chicken Recipes

Chicken Patties — Use canned chicken for these patties that come together in a flash. Serve with a side salad to balance out the meal.

Caesar Salad Wraps — Caesar isn’t necessarily synonymous with healthy, but this lightened-up version by Well Plated By Erin fits the bill. Coat the chicken and chopped romaine lettuce in the dressing, then put in a tortilla for a delicious meal.

Lettuce Wraps — trying to cut carbs? Try these lettuce wraps! Finely chop the chicken to substitute it for the ground chicken and have dinner on the table in no time.

Buffalo Chicken topped Sweet potatoes.

Buddha Bowls — Top your favorite grain with chicken and veggies for a healthy, filling meal. Not sure where to start? Cookie and Kate has a great tutorial.

Kirkland Canned Chicken Recipes For Sandwiches

Chicken Salad — There are so many ways to make chicken salad. My favorite is to add Duke’s mayonnaise, dried cranberries, chopped celery, and big splash of red wine vinegar to a bowl with the drained and flaked chicken.

Chickpea Chicken Salad — Looking for a lighter version? Swap the tuna for chicken in this version that lacks mayo but not flavor.

Mashed with Avocado — Toast your favorite bread and top it with mashed avocado and chopped canned chicken. Add some salt, and if you like heat, red pepper flakes or hot sauce for added flavor.

BBQ Chicken Sandwiches — Get your favorite sandwich roll and fill it with warmed chicken mixed with BBQ sauce. Add some red onions for heat and crunch.

Appetizers

Buffalo Chicken Dip — Having a party? This dip is sure to please. Serve with raw carrots, celery, crackers, and pretzels.

Nachos — Top tortilla chips with drained flaked chicken, beans, and cheese. Then heat under the broiler or in the toaster oven for a few minutes for a great snack.

Easy Dinner Recipes

Tacos — Flake the chicken and add it to a frying pan. Heat over medium heat, and then add your favorite taco seasoning and some water to create a sauce.

Quesadillas — The secret to a great quesadilla is to heat the tortilla first, add the ingredients to one side, fold it over and then grill the other. It produces a crispy outside, which contrasts the cheesy inside.

Chicken Noodle Soup — Not feeling great? Heat some chicken broth, add chopped vegetables and pasta until cooked, and then add the chicken.

Chicken Caesar Pasta — Mix cooked pasta (any shape is fine), canned chicken, chopped romaine lettuce, and Caesar dressing for a hearty dinner or lunch.

BBQ Potatoes — Combine the chicken with BBQ sauce and then place on top of baked potatoes. Feel free to add shredded cheddar cheese and chives for more flavor.

Cobb Salad — No need to order a Cobb Salad anymore; when the chicken is pre-cooked, half of the work is done. This recipe from Delish is a great start.

Chilled Asian Ramen Salad — Looking for an exciting no-cook dinner? This salad is it! It’s filled with veggies, crunch, and everything else that makes it yummy!

Other Ways To Use Kirkland Canned Chicken

Pizza Topping — Add this for a protein-packed punch. Make it a BBQ chicken style by swapping your favorite sauce for the traditional tomato sauce and adding some red onions for added texture and flavor.
